Paul Spaeth, Cinematic Pianist is In Top 10 of “Grand Finals Week” of the Megastar App Competition

(DENVER) - Cinematic pianist, Paul Spaeth is currently ranked in the top ten of all contestants who entered the world’s first mobile talent competition, Megastar. The grand prize winner will receive $1,000,000, as well as a starring role in a digital film with one of Hollywood’s top directors, John Baldecchi.Currently Paul Spaeth is ranked in second place. Paul Spaeth’s story began in rural Wisconsin, in the town of West Bend. When he was just three years old, he became fascinated with a dinosaur-shaped toy piano which he discovered in a toy store, according to Spaeth. “From that day on, Spaeth recalls, I would not relent regarding the fact that I really needed to take piano lessons, up to the point when my dad thankfully signed me up for them.” And so it began. At the age of nine years old, his grandfather began recording his early piano compositions. “It was my grandpa who made me realize that I have something special that others wanted to hear, document and record,” states Spaeth. Paul Spaeth is a current resident of Denver. He has also lived in Los Angeles beginning at the age of 17, at which point he attended the University of Southern California (USC) to hone his craft, which resulted in a Grammy Scholarship. This was also the stage of his life, when he began recording his first orchestral music. During his time in Los Angeles, he also recorded various TV and film scores. In order to maintain his stance as a contender for the grand prize, Spaeth must continue to rank within the top 7 by Wednesday, December 6th at 1 p.m PST. Audience voting is active now to the general public through Wednesday, December 6th, at 1 p.m. PST. The public may vote once daily by downloading the free app on Google Play or through the Apple Store. Audience voting will close for one day, Wednesday, December 6th from 1 p.m. PST to Thursday, December 7th at 1 p.m. PST during the celebrity review period, where Usher and other celebrity judges will review the remaining seven contestants. Proceeding the mid-week celebrity review, five of the contestants will move forward as finalists in the competition. Audience voting will resume again after the celebrity review concludes, and then from Thursday, December 7th at 1 p.m. through Saturday December 9th at 1 p.m. this will be the final and crucial phase of audience voting. The placement of the top five contestants will be determined during the final two days of audience voting, including of course the grand prize winner. Contender Paul Spaeth’s music as a cinematic pianist and composer has been featured in well-known commercials such as the Kay Jewelers holiday commercial, which features the two penguins who are in love, entitled, “Diamonds in Rhythm” and through the music he contributed for War Machine, an online video game, as well as additional commercial work, and TV and film scores.
His first album was entitled, “Cobalt Blue”. He recorded it on MP3.com during high school. “Cobalt Blue” garnered over one million downloads and accolades such as being named the “Top Artist in Los Angeles” as named by MP3.com. His next album, according to Spaeth, was a “much more personal and introspective album,” entitled “Redemption”. It features Tino Guo on cello. In speaking about his album “Redemption”, Spaeth conveyed the importance to him in sharing his inspiration and truth through music, “in sharing redeeming stories, we become stronger. In sharing our dreams, we share the promise of hope.” He continued, “for anyone who has lived and loved, I hope these musical moments will comfort and inspire.”
Anyone who downloads the free Megastar app through Google Play or the Apple Store, may vote once daily throughout this week. The global Megastar competition commenced on September 30, 2017 with finals week concluding this Saturday December 9, 2017. Paul Spaeth summarized what music means to him, “Music can usher in love, help us mend a broken heart, remind us of the past, encourage us towards our future, confront pain with unconditional love, and bring us closer to our truest selves. It is no surprise that music can also heal. Concluding, “our true nature is unconditional love, and by recognizing this, deep healing can occur. I hope by sincerely offering my truth through music, I can awaken yours.” In speaking of how much this competition means to him, as well as taking the time to reflect on the opportunities that would arise for him as a result of winning the Megastar Talent Competition, Paul Spaeth states, “the Megastar competition has already changed my life in that it’s given me a platform to put my music out there and find the confidence in who I am as a musician and creator. The Megastar App competition is the world’s foremost mobile application competition. The initial audition process was open to those residing in the United States, Canada, Australia, Great Britain, and South Africa. After six weeks of audition heats and three finals rounds, the top ten remaining contestants are now in the current Grand Finale Week, where continuous audience voting is crucial for continued advancement in Megastar. The remaining five contestants will appear on a televised finale show, scheduled to air in mid December. Each of the five remaining contestants will win prize money ranging from $10,000 - $25,000 for those placing in the second through fifth spots, and the first place contestant will receive $1,000,000. The Megastar App Talent Competition celebrates talent across seven categories of performance, putting the power largely in the audience’s hands, to include celebrity reviews, all voting and selection processes are crucial in perpetuating the contestants forward in the competition.
